Hotel Industry News - New Openings

Imperial Palace, Palace Hotel Tokyo has announced plans to open May 17 following a JPY 90 billion (US $1.2 billion) investment in the mixed-used development.

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)] announced today the opening of the new-build Holiday Inn New York City Midtown-31st St. The 20-story hotel features more than 120 guest rooms and a rooftop lounge with a spectacular view of the New York City skyline.

Officials with Davidson Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of the fifth Hyatt hotel in Houston, the 335-room Hyatt North Houston. The hotel, formerly known as the Crowne Plaza Houston North-Greenspoint, is operated by Davidson under a franchise agreement with an affiliate of Hyatt Hotels Corporation.

DoubleTree by Hilton announced the opening of its fifth New York City area hotel in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

The Crowne Plaza Suites Tequendama Bogota is located adjacent to the iconic, 573-room Crowne Plaza Tequendama Bogota. Both properties are owned by Sociedad Hotelera Tequendama.

DoubleTree by Hilton has announced the addition of its tenth hotel location in Washington DC-Baltimore area - the DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC-Silver Spring in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The brand new Premier Inn Inverness West hotel and Beefeater Grill will open on Glenurquhat Road on 23rd January 2012. A second hotel, Premier Inn Inverness Centre will also open on the same day, injecting a total £17.2 million investment into the local community.

IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) announced today that the new 270-room Crowne Plaza Semarang will open its doors on 22 January 2012. Owned by the Golden Flower Group, the hotel will be managed by IHG.
