What is sexy? When it comes to hotels and resorts, Sexy, Inc. has the answer. After reviewing over a thousand properties across the globe, Sexy, Inc. has published the first ever listing of the World's Sexiest Hotels.
Marc Holland, founder of Sexy, Inc., says, "Over 1000 properties were evaluated and winners were chosen according to style, architecture, ambiance, service, mood, and emotion." Holland added, "Defining 'sexy' was the fun part of the job. Sexy has nothing to do with price, size, or reputation, but rather how all those elements come together to create a sensual experience that evokes a feeling of true transcendence for the guest."
Holland goes on to say, "We found that hotels and resorts are either sexy or they're not. It's not something you can fake. Sexy could be a desert mega-resort, a sleek New York City business hotel, a cliffside retreat in Positano, or plantation cottages in the Caribbean."
World's 100 Sexiest Hotels is a luxury travel-ranking co-venture between Sexy, Inc., Sky Radio Network, and SkyAuction.com, a leading online travel auction company.
According to SkyAuction.com's CEO, Michael Herring, "As far as I know, this is the first time hotels have been ranked on the basis of their sexiness. There are thousands of hotels throughout the world and I believe that these one hundred finalists represent the world's best and sexiest."
Sky Radio's "Travel Ala Mode" research and production staff was integral in helping review and nominate the sexiest hotel properties. According to EVP Elizabeth Montgomery, "Over the next six months, we'll be featuring the World's Sexiest Hotels on our audio and video network on American, United, Northwest, US Airways, America West, and Aloha Airlines and introducing these unique properties to the 162 million passengers who fly our network of carriers."
Holland says, "The winners that we've spoken to are all thrilled with being selected for the list. They are used to winning awards, but the 'sexiest' award seems to be something they are unusually proud of."
Anna Wood of the Clarence is one of them, saying, "We were delighted to hear we were voted as one of 'The Sexiest Hotels.' As Dublin's only five-star boutique hotel, as well as being owned by Bono & The Edge of U2, we really did appreciate this accolade. It just seemed very us."
Robert Forsyth, Executive Chairman, Recreation Africa Hotels and Resorts, agrees, "Being rated so highly is a great feather in our cap and an honor for us," and Linda Waltz of the Fairmont Kansas City says, "We are the ultimate urban escape for our guests and are happy to have been named one of the World's Sexiest Hotels."
