New General Manager At The St. Regis Shanghai |

The St. Regis Shanghai announces the appointment of Amanda Elder as General Manager. Ms. Elder previously worked in Starwood Hotels & Resorts in Australia and Thailand, as well as opening the first Starwood property in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. |
Most recently Ms. Elder held the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing, Pacific. This role, based in Sheraton on The Park Sydney - voted 'Best Luxury Hotel in New South Wales, Australia', assisted in the strategic direction of its 16 Hotels covering four Starwood brands.
Ms. Elder, a native Australian, has a bachelor's degree of Arts from Auckland University, New Zealand, majoring in English and Politics, she has nearly 20 years working experience in the hospitality industry.
'Amanda brings a wealth of experience and skills to The St. Regis Shanghai,' said Qian Jin, Senior Vice President, China and Taiwan, Starwood Asia Pacific Hotels & Resorts Pte. Ltd. 'We have the right person for this position and I am confident that Amanda can take The St. Regis Shanghai to greater heights.'
Following on from the successful tenure of former General Manager Chuck Abbott, who now heads up Starwood's expansion in Macau with the opening of the 4,100 room Sheraton, Ms. Elder will be responsible for managing The St. Regis Shanghai, ensuring that the hotel's impeccable quality of service and standards are maintained at the highest level.
