Prior to his move to the Courtyard by Marriott, Bhakta was the General Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott Austin North. While in that position, the property received the most improved guest service scores and had the highest profit percentage in Region 1.
"I have more than 15 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant industry," Bhakta commented. "I have managed multimillion dollar budgets, and I am looking forward to working with the team at the Courtyard and being successful in the market."
Bhakta's first position with White Lodging was as a Front Office Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Sugarland, Texas. He moved to Austin in 2000 and was the Operation Manager at the Residence Inn by Marriott at the Arboretum. From this position, Bhakta moved into the Operations Manager/Assistant General Manager position at the Courtyard by Marriott Austin Central. During his time at this hotel, he received White Lodging's Operations Manager of the Year award.
Bhakta was promoted to the General Manager of the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott in south Austin where he oversaw the renovation of the Fairfield Inn to a Fairfield Inn & Suites.
