Tim Zugger Named General Manager Of Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center In Somerset, New Jersey

  • Doubletree BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., May 14, 2003 - Timothy J. Zugger has been named general manager of the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center - Somerset in New Jersey. A 20-year veteran of Hilton Hotels Corporation, Zugger most recently served as general manager of both the Hilton Suites Auburn Hills and Hilton Inn Southfield in suburban Detroit.

    Centrally situated in one of America’s most dynamic corporate communities just 40 miles from New York City, the Doubletree Hotel & Executive Meeting Center - Somerset is located adjacent to the Garden State Convention and Exhibit Center on 16 beautifully landscaped acres. The hotel features 360 oversized guestrooms and 31,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 10,000 square-foot ballroom for events of up to 1,500 people.
    Zugger began his career at the Hilton Miami Airport in 1983 before spending three years in various supervisory positions in the front office of the Waldorf=Astoria® in New York City. He then served as director of front office operations during the next ten years at the Hilton Myrtle Beach, Hilton New Orleans Riverside, Hilton Atlanta and the Palmer House® Hilton in Chicago. In 1994, he was named executive assistant manager of the Hilton Atlanta and in 1997 became resident manager of the Hilton Pittsburgh. In 2000, he was promoted to general manager of both the Hilton Suites Auburn Hills and Hilton Inn Southfield in Michigan.
    In his new role, Zugger also will oversee a team dedicated to the hotel’s 9,000 square-foot Executive Conference Center that has been approved and certified by the International Association of Conference Centers. The Executive Conference Center provides nine unique meeting rooms, including a comfortable library, with support facilities that meet the stringent requirements of this esteemed worldwide association. From permanent, sound-proofed walls to the latest built-in computer and audio-visual equipment, the hotel provides a level of service that caters to the most sophisticated meeting clients in the industry. Unique food and beverage services are included in meetings packages at the Executive Conference Center and designed to meet the needs of businesses and groups involved in high-level meetings, professional seminars and training programs for up to 50
