Toronto, CANADA, June 12, 2003 - A franchise agreement has been signed for the Sheraton Four Points in Niagara Falls that will see it converted to the Clarion President Hotel & Suites by the Falls.
The 8-storey, 192-room hotel, located at 6045 Stanley Ave. within walking distance of the new casino, will join the Choice system this year in mid-October.
"The hotel was in need of a new image and the Clarion brand is an excellent fit," said Jack Lee, President of President Canada Group, which owns the Clarion Hotel. "The strength of the Choice family of hotels - their reservation system, sales and marketing programs and operational support - led me to the decision to reposition this hotel from the Sheraton Four Points brand to Clarion.">
President Canada Group is based out of Richmond, B.C., where it owns and manages the Radisson President Hotel & Suites.
The Clarion President Hotel & Suites by the Falls will be the twelfth Choice brand hotel in Niagara Falls, which already has two Quality Inns, three Comfort Inns, three Econo Lodges and three Rodeway Inns.
The Clarion brand continues to grow with eight Clarion brand properties in Canada and a total of 180 properties worldwide.
"Niagara Falls is a very strategic market for Choice Canada. We see this hotel as an excellent fit for our long term development goals for this market and the Clarion brand," said Scott T. Duff, Vice President, Franchise Development, Choice Hotels Canada. "With eight Clarion Hotels in Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec, it's a solid brand with a very bright future.">
Guests of the Clarion President Hotel & Suites by the Falls will appreciate being within walking distance to the Falls, the new Casino and the recently announced Convention Centre. The hotel offers an atrium-style pool, visible from the well-appointed lobby, a sixty-seat licensed dining room that was recently renovated, and five conference rooms with the largest seating up to 130 people.
Choice Hotels Canada is the largest hotel chain in the country with more than 270 properties open and under development, representing eight brands from coast to coast, including Comfort, Comfort Suites, Quality, Sleep Inn, Clarion, Econo Lodge, Rodeway and MainStay Suites. Choice Canada is part of Choice Hotels International, which has over 5,000 properties worldwide.
