Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) Americas has named Gabriela Otto as Managing Director of the HSMAI Brasil Chapter.
The hospitality industry is seeing enormous growth in Brazil, and HSMAI Brasil, headquartered in Sao Paulo, will provide members in the region with the latest globally recognized, industry-accredited certification, educational opportunities and hospitality research.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to broaden the expertise of hospitality professionals in Brazil through educational opportunities,” Otto said. “We will all focus on increasing industry certifications within the industry.”
Otto has more than 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, business management and employee development. Most recently, she was Regional Director of Sales and Revenue Management for Latin America for Sofitel Luxury Hotels. Otto also has worked for Cesar Park, InterContinental Hotels and Resorts and World Hotels.
“Gabriela brings a great amount of expertise to HSMAI Brasil,” said Bob Gilbert, president and CEO of HSMAI Americas. “Through her leadership we will provide great opportunities for growth for our HSMAI members in Brazil.”
Otto is also a professor of executive education at ESPM and created courses such as Management Strategies and Tourism Luxury and Hotel Revenue Management and Distribution. Otto has been a columnist for hospitality, marketing and revenue management websites and maintains a well-known industry blog.
