Loews Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Jim Cone as Senior Vice President of Marketing. With more than a quarter-century of experience in the hotel industry, Cone will oversee many disciplines of marketing for the hotel group, including advertising, brand strategy, direct marketing, customer relationship management (CRM), partnerships, loyalty program development and other initiatives to draw leisure, business and group travelers to 22 Loews properties across the U.S. and Canada.
Cone joins Loews Hotels & Resorts following nearly a decade with Hilton Worldwide, most recently serving as Vice President, Global Customer Promotions. Among his responsibilities, Cone oversaw global direct marketing and promotional strategies supporting over 4,000 hotels across 10 brands. He previously served as Vice President of Brand Marketing for Hilton Garden Inn, where he was responsible for developing brand strategy, brand marketing and the launch of the brand throughout EMEA and APAC.
"I'm very excited to welcome Jim, whose experience with branding, direct marketing, CRM and loyalty program development is deep and impressive. I am confident that he will prove a great asset in driving new business to Loews and retaining those customers who have already enjoyed our hospitality," said Bruce J. Himelstein, Chief Marketing Officer of Loews Hotels & Resorts.
Cone got his start in the hotel industry in various operational positions at the Grand Hyatt New York, including Director of Convention Services. He received a Bachelor of Science in hotel administration from Cornell University and an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Southern California.
Headquartered in New York City, Loews Hotels & Resorts owns and/or operates 22 hotels and resorts across the U.S. and Canada, including two newly acquired Midwest locations - the Loews Minneapolis Hotel, situated in the heart of Minneapolis' entertainment district, and the Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel, less than two miles from O'Hare Airport in the emerging city of Rosemont, Ill. The new-build, 400-room Loews Chicago Hotel will debut downtown in February 2015.
