Marriott Vacation Club International Opens First Arizona Resort

  • Marriott Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI), the vacation ownership division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) , this month opened its first resort in Phoenix, Arizona -- Marriott's Canyon Villas at Desert Ridge.

    A haven for golf- and nature-lovers alike, the southwest-inspired vacation ownership resort now includes 51 of a total 252 proposed villas and spans 22 acres adjacent to an 18-hole Nick Faldo-designed golf course and an Arnold Palmer- designed 18-hole course at Wildfire Golf Club.

    Desert Ridge is a 5,700-acre master planned community, combining the spectacular 950-room JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort & Spa and MVCI vacation ownership villas. Each two-bedroom, two-bath villa at Marriott's Canyon Villas features 1,260 square feet of living area to comfortably accommodate up to eight guests. Vacationers can experience the elegance of a master suite with a deep soaking tub, fully-equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, multiple televisions, a DVD and two balconies offering mountain and golf views. Prices per week of deeded ownership at Marriott's Canyon Villas currently range from $16,400 to $28,650, depending on season purchased.
