RLHC (Red Lion Hotels Corporation) (NYSE:RLH) announced last week the Company will open a second Red Lion Hotel near Walt Disney World Resort in Florida after securing a franchise license agreement with the owners. Also located in Kissimmee, the hotel is currently closed and undergoing extensive renovations before its planned reopening by November 2016.
"We will have invested millions in a complete refurbishment of the property inside and out when we reopen as a Red Lion Hotel," said Jeff Carter of Carter Hospitality Group, LLC., whose affiliate owns the property and also owns the Red Lion Hotel Orlando - Kissimmee Maingate, which opened last month. "We are in the process of incorporating the new guest room design in this incredible location, and the plans for the renovation are going as scheduled."
"Dreams really do come true," said RLHC Senior Vice President and Chief Franchise Officer Brian Quinn. "Within a month, we have signed nearly 1,000 rooms in the Disney main gate area, both owned and operated by the same highly regarded group. Both Orlando-Kissimmee hotels are great sister properties to our successful location near Disneyland® Park in Anaheim, California."
The future Red Lion Hotel Orlando - Lake Buena Vista South, located at 5150 West US Highway 192 in Kissimmee, is also near Magic Kingdom® Park, Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park, Epcot®, Disney Hollywood Studios®, Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, Disney Springs™, and other area attractions.
When it reopens, the hotel will feature 416 guest rooms and suites, an outdoor pool with a lazy river and children's play area, a full service restaurant, a poolside sports bar, business center, multilingual staff, complimentary parking and concierge services.
In December, the Company opened its first Red Lion branded franchise location in Florida, the Red Lion Hotel Orlando - Kissimmee Maingate, 7300 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy.
