I Was Hoping For More Sex And Less Violence 
This is a chronological history of porn as told by porn stars, directors, lawyers and others closely tied to the industry. At first I thought it's odd format, which is basically a series of interview comments, would be confusing and difficult. But it ended up being an enjoyable and easy book, probably the quickest 600 pages I have ever read.
I only wish the book had concentrated more on sex and what daily life in the porn world is about from an insider's perspective. Instead there is a heavy emphais on... more info

BRILLIANT whether you're interested in the subject or not! 
MAGNIFICENTLY DONE! This is one amazing mesmerizing read. Not to be missed a stupendous oral historian the likes of George Plimpton where are more works by you Legs McNeil! What superb talent!

Behind the Seedy Scenes
Writing an oral history of any subject isn't easy, but McNeil pulls it off well here in this oddly appropriate companion piece to his first book, Please Kill Me. Highly recommended!

Its a book. Some of the stories are interesting but its not really a story. It may be chronologically arranged but its not complete interviews, its not an actual interview. The author takes snipets of this and that and arranges them to make a book without actually conducting the interview. Does that make sense?
