The Unwritten Rules of the Highly Effective Job Search: The Proven Program Used by the Worlds Leading Career Services CompanyThe author is not only highly knowledgeable about what is entailed in an effective job search, he knows how to write clearly, simply and in an interesting, even entertaining, fashion. A Most Helpful Book!
Orville takes a complex and slippery process and makes it straightforward. As someone who has also worked in outplacement for a number of years, the Pierson method offers helpful advice in how to prepare for your search, how to implement it, and how to know how it's going. Chapters are easy to read and follow. If you're in transition or know someone who is out of work, this is the book for you.

Telling it Like it Is
Orville Pierson tells it like it really is! The job search process is hard work. A common complaint that my clients have is they find it difficult to stay organized, stay focused and maintain some semblence of structure in their daily job search activities. The Unwritten Rules of the Highly Effective Job Search provides a framework and methodology that gives my clients a sense of control during what can be an overwhelming process.
