Nothing to write home about...
The Saturday Wife is another in a series of less than insightful novels concerning life as a rebbizin. The dialogue reads as rather light-headed as opposed to light-hearted.

very funny, but not for the easily-offended
This book is a hysterically funny put down of a certain type of modern Orthodox Jewish congregation. Those who think the satire is pointed at them may feel scandalized and insulted, but I say if you can't laugh at yourself, then pretend you're laughing at others.

Pretty good read
Overall I liked this book a lot. However, it was a bit "lighter" than I expected given her other books. In fact, I don't think this was as good as her other books have been.

Awful, But I Finished It
This book had one of the most unsympathetic main characters I've ever come across. There was nothing about her that was relatable or funny or endearing. At the same time I didn't care enough to root against her. I am very interested in Orthodox Jewish customs and practices and I guess that's what kept me reading. I am sorry that I paid for this book instead of borrowing it from the library.
