  I seldom read fiction but became aware of this book and it's movie adaptation through a Rouge Morgue article. I read it, and am glad I did. This is a very unique take on vampire mythology. It is a coming of age story; ridden with angst, hope, fear and longing. It is a very dark tale. The characters are very real people with some very serious defects, the type developed by living life and sometimes just making bad choices driven by primal urges. • A gift for my girl
  I got this for my girlfriend who loves Horror movies and is awaiting anxiously for the movie to come to town. She hadn't read the book yet and was thrilled to get it. She's read it and thinks the book is fantastic!

• Excellent novel, somewhat unique
  "Let the Right One In" stood out because of its unique take on a relatively beaten to death genre. The true horror in this book is not just the evil vampire (who, despite having a friendship with the young protagonist, is still apathetic towards the rest of humanity) but the meagre quality of life for the human characters. It is almost capable to forgive the vampire for putting some of the characters out of their misery.

• A Tragedy
  I read this book after viewing the movie. The book is a nice compliment to the movie. Do not think that because you saw the movie you know everything that will happen in this book. A lot of unanswered questions I had about the movie were, to my delight, answered by this book. The story took me on an emotional ride through the relationship between Oscar and Eli.
