  I'll add my two cents to the other 370+ reviews...
  I think this may have been one of the best books I've ever read. The range of emotions I felt through the book was incredible, which is why I said it was one of the best.
  I will say that the first couple hundred pages are can be very hard to read, Ash's life is not an easy one and the abuse is heartbreaking. The author said she didn't pull any punches and she doesn't.

• Finally, Acheron!
  I love this series of books! This is not my normal reading material but a friend introduced me and now I'm hooked on Sherrilyn Kenyon. - SPOILERS MAY FOLLOW - I can not tell you how excited I was that Acheron's story was going to be told, but let me tell you it isn't an easy story to read. I felt the first part of the book was very difficult to read due to the history of violence that makes Acheron who he becomes. • Finally Acheron's story
  I'm a huge Dark-Hunter fan, and had been waiting for Ash's story for a while. The story was enjoyable, though there's the double edged sword of finally seeing Ash's side of things. Yes, it was great to tear into the book and finally read his side, but the air of mystery is gone now and Ash doesn't seem as Larger Than Life as he used to.

  I sat down to read this book with high expectations....and I wasn't disappointed. Acheron has always been my favorite DH character.
