Excellent chapters in project selection and termination
This book is one of few books mentioning the project selection and termination process, in addition to the other common project management topics, such as budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. While you need to make sure that you do your project right, a more important thing nowaday is to make sure that you are doing the right projects. While I am trying to find a book on the topic - project portfolio management, I find this old book very useful.

Solid Project Management in theory and practice
I've taken 3 Project Management courses in my university graduate program and this was the book I used in the first course. Those in the other two courses should never have been published. I keep referring back to this one. It is solid, up-to-date, including theory and real-world examples.
