An afternoon with the Lean Mastermind
Sit down, serve yourself some green tea, and listen. Listen to the father of the Toyota Production System talk about the concepts behind the concepts. The "root causes" (root goals, here) of Kaizen, inventory, autonomation, bosses and workers, Kaizen, cost reduction, standards, more Kaizen, robots, and more cost reduction. Learn. Double learn. Triple learn! This short book is a fascinating read. A MUST READ for anybody interested in Lean principles and the history of Toyota.

This book made me think...
"A wiseman is a person who can explain complex things in simple words." Trully Taiichi Ohno was (and still is due to his TPS and books) a wiseman. This book made me think. Think about the issues I thought as not important, made me think over the issues I already had some opinion. Every chapter (about 40) is packed and the clue is presented. There is no "bla, bla, bla" as other LM books. Here you find the essence from the real Sensei. Pro: every sentence is this book.
Cons: not found.

Some concepts are likely to be unpopular and/or counterintuitive, such as scolding subordinates in front of others or most people are wrong 30-40% of the time. As such, this book is not for beginners or junior... more info

Not suitable for beginners
This book is - as mentioned bij others - a remarkable object, coming from one of the founder fathers of Toyota's Lean Adventure. The book is not written by him, but is the result of several discussions (or monologues) from Ohno. As such it is already possible to use as a study of Ohno himself.
However,I suppose that Ohno-san would not like to be a hero or a white knight. This is not lean thinking, where the real hero's are those who add real value to the endcustomer.
So, this book is of no help... more info
