Mark Hurst [Disclaimer: I think he's a genius] is the best writer I know of who is dealing with the problems PC users, meaning everyone, face every day. "Bit Literacy" contains advice that I use many times a day. While it is a bit of a Jeremiad, he can't be blamed since most people complain bitterly about email, especially spam, and to-do lists and don't ever do anything about it. Bit Literacy: Productivity in the Age of Information and E-mail Overload I can't say enough about what I learned from this book and its companion download, gootodo.com. Not just learned, but was rewarded and continued to be rewarded by using. My use of to do lists has transformed completely, as well as my use of email. Helpful guide to managing your digital life 
Information overload has been a problem for me recently. With the huge numbers of blogs, media, and other sites, there has to be a system to keep yourself from going nuts. I loved the methods that Hurst proposes. This book is like Miss Manners for the Net. I was especially interested in the section on e-mail management. The system Hurst uses is a lot like GTD by David Allen, only without all the 'mind like water' hokum Allen espouses.
