  Double Outsiders is more than simply a look at women of color in business. Instead, it's a series of true stories - each with their own unique voice - synthesized with vital statistics to add perspective to the situation. Ms. Carter's account of the personal stories and triumphs of the women featured is invaluable to anyone...whatever stage of professional development they are in.

• An excellent, practical guide for navigating corporate politics
  Double Outsiders is a very practical, sober guide for ambitious women who want better insight and guidance as to how to navigate a workplace culture that does not always have their best interest at heart. Ms. Carter calls a spade, a spade, and provides suggestions as to what to do with a spade. As a physician, I haven't worked in a "corporate" environemnt in the traditional sense.   While the message of the book is absolutely true, the author does not really ponder deep into the reasons behind it or add anything new to the discussion. This is a simple book. Oh...and she is practically obsessed with Harvard.
