A novel of duty and personal sacrifice in a great setting 
In the best of science fiction, readers are drawn into worlds of conflict as well as rich and alternate realms where no one has gone before.
Dodd brings us the best of both in her page-turner second novel. Readers of her debut novel "The Gift Horse" will see in "Trinity of Tylos" a variation on a theme: the captive woman.

More like 4 1/2 stars! Very thought provoking sci fi book.... 
Major Venice Dylenski is in charge of security on the ship Excalibur. She is concerned when an alien ship approaches the Excalibur after a mysterious static burst had temporarily blinded all of the ship's sensors. Unfortunately, Captain MacPherson is a lot more trusting and soon Venice is faced with a choice: either submit herself as a prisoner to Lord Azareel of the Archeons or the ship will be crushed to smithereens.
