  I emailed this company, confessed my ignorance regarding my order, and asked a pretty simple question:
  "OK, I'm an idiot. I have a Kindle, and I bought the iGo power tip for it (as suggested by Amazon), but didn't quite understand that I also needed an adapter. Now that brings me to my question: If I typically use the wall charger that came with the Kindle, what is the advantage of the iGo power tip?   Bought this as a spare in case I misplaced/lost the original tip. It works great just as advertised

• iGo A00 power tip for kindle
  Pros: Works great, does what I wanted it to do. 4 AA batteries will recharge or run your Kindle anywhere. It's much more convenient to carry than the AC charger, and with the extra tips available, it will charge other components.
  Cons: My rechargable NiMH batteries (Duracell & Powerex) are a little too big (diameter), the cover won't fit right, but they work. Alkaline batteries fit fine.
