  • This is better than Iced Earth's latest album with Barlow
This is a fantastic album from start to finish. Barlows voice sounds fantastic and the music is flawless. I found it amazing that every song is great and I cant seem to get tired of replaying this CD over and over again. Barlows comeback with Iced Earth was disappointing but this Pyramaze album is a must have for any metal fan!

  • Solid Effort
I've listened to this a only a few times. My initial impression is that it's good, but there aren't really any standout tracks that grab you on the first listen (or two). I compare it with something like BG's Twist in the Myth.

Perhaps it's my fault for setting my expectations too high, but this CD just didn't deliver what I was hoping for. I've been an Iced Earth fan for some time and was excited at the prospect of hearing Matt Barlow's comeback on this album. Then I heard he was recording with a great band and I was excited but not as much as I would be if it were Iced Earth. I found out the name of the band and checked out the myspace song "Year of The Phoenix", which I thought was vocally insane, and musically decent, so the next time I went to the cd store I picked the album up. I loved every minute of it. It had a "Horror Show" feeling... more info
