Customer Review: This book is a comic look at sociology. David Brooks is one of my favorite conservative thinkers -- he appears during the News Hour on Public TV every Friday night at 6:00 pm. Actually this book is more about Social Psychology than it is about "Comic Sociology". Sociology investigates how... more info
Customer Review: David Brooks is a great statirist and this book extends his thoughts into 2007. While an enjoyable read, Brooks' "Bobo's in Paradise" was better and funnier. So start with it first.
Customer Review: Technically an excellent novel but, unlike the wonderful Barset chronicles, we read of dark dreary cynical people in a decaying English society. I for one was quite happy to turn the last page and leave this world. We find Trollope's usual ingredients here: imperfect people finding themselves... more info

I've read it in its entirety several times, and I keep this book at my bedside so I can flip to my favorite chapters, Solitude, The Ponds, Winter Animals, Spring, etc., any time I wish. Only Thoreau can end a book with the sentence "The Sun is but a morning... more info

It presents a lot of information, but it is also a great discussion starter book. We read some things and then talk about the subject even more.... more info
