Customer Review: This book dwells too much on negativity. It also seems to blame adoption for everything that can go wrong in an adoptee's life. I have adopted and maternal children, all of which go thru the same teenage issues of any other teenager. The adopted children do not dwell on any adoptive "loss" so to... more info

Customer Review: At times it was very difficult to read this true story due to my tears and heart stopping feelings. I think that this book should be required reading for the young people of today to let them know how blessed they are to have what they have. I hope our system has changed enough so that the things... more info
Customer Review: We're the parents of a couple of adopted kids, and have continually searched for specific information about adopted children with broad-spectrum diagnoses (ADHD, ODD, RAD, Bipolar Disorder). Customer Review: After reading close to 20 great books, this one is the one that gave me the most day to day good advice, information and real life case stories. This should be a prerequisite for anyone adopting. It is truly a wealth of information that is written in an easy to read format.
Great book!
Customer Review: This is a useful read for potential adoptive parents, or even the parents of children who have been separated from birth parents for any reason. However, I found that the author wildly idealised and exaggerated the connection and understanding of birth parents with their children. Birth parents... more info
Customer Review: This book surprised me. I got it for Valentine's Day from my boyfriend and we did all the homework. It really worked. He only had to read one page per chapter so he could stick wth. The Doctor knows her stuff!
