Ravel: Boléro
from Decca
Price: $13.99
Customer Review:
I find Maurice Ravel's music among the most unique and wonderful of the twentieth century. It marks the sublime marriage of pensive impressionism with--and many music scholars might disagree with me on this matter--a vibrant late-romanticism. There are few collections that highlight this grandness... more info

Ravel: Piano Works
from Decca

Customer Review:
I cannot rate this disc because I don't own it, but thought I would offer a warning based on hearing other works by this pianist. If Mr. Roge's interpretaion of Ravel is anything like his take on Debussy piano music, be wary of spending money on this disc. Mr. Roge's playing of Debussy is... more info

Ravel: Greatest Hits
from Sony
Price: $9.98
Customer Review:
Since this is a selection of works played by various orchestras, it's not really a comprehensive piece of work. But really, Ravel is not one of the "great" composers. Bolero is a fun piece and I enjoy it. For the rest, but for the dates of composition I would swear it was a movie soundtrack.
