Historic property transformed into Hilton hotel brand

Hampton by Hilton;

Pebb Capital today announced the opening of Hampton Inn by Hilton Miami Beach Mid-Beach in Miami Beach, Florida. The new 100-key hotel features a wide range of amenities in one of the U.S.’ leading tourism destinations. This news follows the company’s acquisition of the historically-designated property in 2016 and subsequent engagement in a $25 million rehabilitation to reposition its interiors to align with the Hampton by Hilton brand while reinvigorating the architectural splendor of the building.

With extensive expertise in all real estate asset classes, Pebb Capital’s vision for Hampton Inn by Hilton Miami Beach Mid-Beach has been realized, delivering a value-driven hospitality offering surrounded by luxury hotel product and in proximity to the beach, entertainment, and shopping. Located just one block from the ocean at 4000 Collins Avenue, the property will provide unmatched value for guests seeking to experience all that Miami Beach has to offer.

Designed by Abraham Herbert Mathes in the 1940s as the Continental Hotel, Pebb Capital’s revival of the five-story, historic building included significant restorations to its marble-clad reception desk and repainting its façade to its former presentation of traditional Miami Modernist (MiMo) style, which captivated Miami Beach design in the post-World War II era. Mathes’ design of clean vertical lines with large windows for natural light and openness was also preserved. Prior to Pebb Capital converting the property back to its original hotel status, it served as a condominium in the early 1990s, named The Continental on Collins Ave Condo.

“We’re thrilled to deliver this property in a coveted location and celebrate its ongoing architectural legacy while ushering in the contemporary qualities of Hampton by Hilton,” said Todd Benson, managing director of development and asset management with Pebb Capital. “This transformed property is a solid addition to our expanding portfolio, further demonstrating our commitment to creating one-of-a-kind destinations in high-density, urban markets.”

Guest rooms and common area spaces boast the comforts and amenities synonymous with Hampton by Hilton. This includes a fully renovated pool, fitness center, and business center, as well as 100 spacious rooms. Every Hampton by Hilton guest will enjoy the brand’s signature free, hot breakfast with healthy options; On the Run breakfast bags; and free WiFi in every room. Hampton continues to lead the pack in terms of guest experience, with guest happiness being the number one priority, backed by the 100% Hampton Guarantee

Set to open in November 2020, the hotel’s ground floor will welcome Piola restaurant, complete with an outdoor terrace and bar. Future plans by Pebb Capital also call for an adjacent surface parking lot, owned by the firm, to be developed into a parking garage with ground-floor retail.

The hotel will be managed by Driftwood Hospitality Management.
