Mexican real estate and investment firm Sun-Star Group, has announced the development of an internationally branded luxury hotel at Lake Chapala, a popular destination located within 50 kilometers of Guadalajara Mexico’s second largest city, and home to a large population of expatriates.
The Sun-Star Group, led by Mr. Eduardo Hernández Rodríguez and Mr. Thomas Wahl, has an agreement with an international hotel brand, for the development and operation of a luxury hotel at Lake Chapala, with an option for additional territories.
“We have examined the Mexican hotel market very carefully and it is no secret that the industry is at a point where many opportunities are emerging to serve both the domestic and international markets for leisure and business travellers”, said Thomas Wahl.
“We have identified key locations, acquired real estate and are working in conjunction with a premier international hotel company, allowing us to develop the appropriate hotels ranging from three star to luxury, depending on the market”.
The group selected Ajijic at Mexico’s Lake Chapala for its first development, because of the unique demographic make up of the market.
“We chose Ajijic as our first project for strategic reasons. The destination currently has no internationally branded hotels and has a unique demographic in that it serves both domestic and international clientele”, said Thomas Wahl.
Eduardo Hernández Rodríguez, COO of the firm added, “Our experience in the Mexican real estate market combined with our international affiliations has already generated a great deal of interest both domestically and internationally.”
The Sun-Star Group is seeking international investors interested in participating in the development of these hotels.
