- Master's degree (or equivalent non-U.S. degree) in psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, professional counseling or related fields.
- Training and experience in clinical assessment, crisis intervention, treatment planning and treatment using a variety of methods.
- Ability to exercise excellent independent clinical judgment with minimal direct supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and familiarity with computer use.
- Comprehensive knowledge of substance abuse, mental health, and recovery issues and principles.
- Knowledge of issues pertinent to survivors of violence and abuse.
- Eagerness for professional and personal growth opportunities.
- Knowledge and experience of mental illness or substance use disorders and recovery, either personally, through a family member or close friend, or by extensive work in helping to care for others. (preferred)
- Knowledge of and experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment systems of the Denver area. (preferred)
- Credentials as a CAC or LAC. (preferred)
- Post-master's degree experience in providing emergency mental health services.


Position: Crisis Clinician


Description:
 Crisis Clinicians rapidly evaluate complex behavioral health situations, then develop, recommend, and support clinically appropriate crisis interventions to be implemented with individual clients, their families, and a wide variety of community helpers, including law enforcement and EMS personnel.

Main Areas of Responsibility:
Receive incoming calls from clients, families, law enforcement, community helpers.
- Assess situations and behaviors as presented.
- Counsel, negotiate, mediate and intervene with callers to defuse crisis intensity and prevent self-harm or harm to others.
- Determine and recommend appropriate interventions and deliver clinical crisis interventions.
- Provide information and referrals to available community programs, as may be indicated.
- Initiate follow-up calls to check on client welfare and encourage service linkage

Compensation/Benefits:
$19.70/hr Starting Rate with shift differential pay.
- Health Benefits available to full time employees. 401K Benefits available to PT and FT Employees. Overnight Bonus available for this position.
